Marrakech Yoga Retreat
A little look around our Moroccan adventure that took place at the beginning of April this year!
@jeniferkesik and I teamed up to bring our gorgeous group of yogi's our first co-hosted retreat together!
Jen is a well known and highly respected yoga instructor from Bournemouth and I was keen to bring her talents to the world, so it made sense to join forces and combine her wonderful yoga alongside my holistic nutrition approach in a peaceful retreat environment.
The group visited the YSL museum and Majorelle gardens which is a famous 'must do' experience in Marrakech, with its bright and colourfully painted walls and lush green gardens it really was a beautiful morning spent in the Moroccan sunshine.
We shopped in the Souks, marvelled at the beautiful Moroccan lamps, intricately hand woven rugs, the vibrancy of the fruit stalls and thoroughly soaked up the energy and culture of the whole place.
On the Friday morning we took a road trip to the Atlas Mountains, starting off with a tour around a traditional Berber household that had a cow living upstairs in one of the bedrooms! We were transported back in time watching them make bread on an open fire and imagined what it was like to be living this way.
We started off at the foot of the mountains and with our guide climbed (yes it was definitely a climb) to the top which was adjacent to a beautiful waterfall.
On our way up we went past bizarre displays (pictures) and saw the most gorgeous collection of rugs. When we finally reached the top we sat together under the snow capped peaks in a make shift cafe and sipped on mint tea in the fresh air and nibbled on some generously gifted health bar snacks from Squirrel Sisters.
We ate in Limoni restaurant - a secret lunch spot tucked away in a small arched door that is easily overlooked when walking down the street (a real hidden gem).
When it opens up into the white walled restaurant you feel as though you have been transported straight into a palatial Italian courtyard with full grown lemon trees inside.
In the afternoons Jen led the group into a relaxing Yin Yoga session and we soothed away the mornings sessions by rubbing delicious lavender magnesium cream on our muscles before bed (kindly gifted to us by Better You ltd).
We enjoyed Smoothies by Nuzest - which was the added nutrition and protein that the girls needed after their power yoga session.
I put together a plethora of edible treats made from ingredients like Macca, spirulina, cacao, moringa, chia seeds and goji berries to hold a superfoods workshop where we learnt about their ancient healing powers.

We ate nutritious plant based meals every evening together and learnt about the benefits of a low sugar diet and how it effects our moods, brain function, skin clarity, hormones and of course gut!
We sipped mint tea in a traditional moroccan cafe and ate hot Tagines.
